What’s Happening at Black Market?

OUR NEW WAREHOUSE

The BIG news is that we have a new warehouse! The site is 420m2 and will allow us to finally bring everything under one roof.  Whilst it’s a big empty space at the moment we love the vibe in here.  It has lots of natural light, nice double height ceilings in the front section, plenty of space for our green beans and is located opposite Stockade Brew Co.  What more could you want?  The site will house our roasting facility and headquarters as well as a sweet training space where we will run our Foundations, Latte Art and Professional Barista courses.  It will also have a tasting bar, where you can come and sample, taste, pick up beans, hangout and soak up the vibes Black Market style.

WELCOME SUNRISE NURSERY!

We are so chuffed to be partnering with Sunrise Nursery in Helensburgh and would like to welcome them into our family! They have recently opened a cute little café within their gorgeous gardens.  So you can put your feet up and enjoy a high quality espresso whilst pondering which beautiful natives you will plant in your garden this weekend.

FRESH CROP ETHIOPIA!

Its an exciting time of year for roasters all around the globe as our FRESH crop Ethiopian coffees land. Selected months ago, shipments this year have been held up by a number of things, including a little thing called COVID and a big and constant issue called politics that left Ethiopia without communication technologies for sizeable chunk of the month.  I think it’s an understatement to say that we can’t wait to get these coffees! Due to arrive in mid September, we have three different plantations booked. Daniel and I (Jess) have carefully selected one to showcase as our Bright Roast whilst the other two (one washed,  one natural) will showcase in our Single O range for espresso.

The coming month will also see us roasting up two amazing coffees we have in from Honduras and another from El Salvador as well.  So there you have it, just a bit of juice to get you through this last two weeks of winter.  Bring on Spring!

MORE LATTE ART CLASSES?

We hear you!  We are sorry that our next availabilities are quite a few weeks into the future, we are so restricted with class sizes to meet our social distancing regulations in our current tiny little space, but as soon as we open the doors to our new warehouse we’ll have plenty of space to cater for you all!
